Self Care Packing Tips

Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

- Dr. Seuss, Oh, the Places You'll Go!

It's summertime... which means beautiful weather and soooo much to do! So many places to see. So many fun memories to make and adventures to go on.

But I will admit, when summertime comes, I feel like I'm always go-go-go, which means I'm not always taking the best care of myself. When we travel, it's easy to let our healthy habits slip to the wayside... cuz... duh, it's vacation!

Don't let the excitement of a vacay distract you from packing some items that might be helpful as you go on road trips, planes, and trains, or wherever your heart desires!

I'm here to help and remind you that even though you're traveling, you can still keep up some healthy habits and any anxious vibes on the low. Check out some of my must-have self-care packing items that I can't live without when I travel.

Stay Alert Essential Oil

This essential oil blend is one of my favorite things in general. It's the Stay Alert blend by Eden's Garden. It's a blend of Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Lavender, and Pine, and its scent is simply divine.

I just add a few drops to my palms, rub my hands together, lightly cup my nose and palm, and then take 5/6 deep breaths. You'll be hit instantly with a refreshing feeling of awakening and rejuvenation. Seriously, this scent has the ability to do that.

This is a great item to use as a pick-me-up while traveling, especially if you're traveling at odd hours.

Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint oil on its own is also a road trip win. Why? Peppermint oil can help get rid of headaches, aka hangover headaches (& headaches, in general, of course).

Just massage a few drops around your temples, the base of your skull, and along your hairline to zap any travel headaches away.

Carnelian Tumble Stone

Carnelian promotes positivity, self-empowerment, and embracing life, so you can use it during your travels to give you the courage to try new experiences and put yourself out there!

It also helps ward off negative emotions such as anger, fear, jealousy so you can stay focused on whatever your desires are. Don't let weird energies rattle you from enjoying your vacation!

Labradorite Stone

Labradorite is the gemstone of magic. It can enhance your inner awareness, self- discovery, and coincidence control—all good things to be in control of while you're trying new activities. Trusting your gut and intuition while meeting new people and visiting unknown places can be a powerful travel tool.

Bear Naked Granola Bite

Meet my current snack obsession - Bear Naked Granola Bites. Peanut Butter + Honey + Pumpkin Seeds = the perfect snack for when I'm traveling or on the go.

Sage Spray

Use Sage Spray to cleanse your energy and space without any flames or smoke! Simply spray to purify the negative or stagnant energy around you. It works perfectly as a room refresher or as a personal misting spray.

This spray is made of 100% all-natural essential oils, so it really is the real deal for cleansing, purifying, and inviting positive influences into your life while you're on the go!

Sweet Tangerine tea

Hilary introduced me to this tea earlier this year, and I can't get enough it! It's the Sweet Tangerine Positive Energy tea from Yogi brand.

It's a blend of Assam Black Tea, Yerba Maté, Lotus Flower, and Tangerine and has a sweet and floral flavor that will uplift any spirit!

Guy meditating on top of building

When in doubt, just find a quiet space or simply close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths to center and ground yourself and then just continue to breathe in and out for 3 minutes.

Doing this "small" thing for yourself could end up having a much larger effect on the rest of your day. No one wants to be in an annoyed or irritated mood, especially while traveling! Use this technique to distract you from whatever was bothering you and remind yourself to be present and enjoy the moment!

Safe travels!
