7 Ways to Use Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender Essential Oil is a great beginner oil and a must-have for every home. Its scent is known to have a calming, relaxing, and balancing effect – physically and emotionally.
It is commonly used to ease stress and tension, create a peaceful environment, and soothe sore muscles!
If you are wanting to find more ways to use Lavender Essential Oil than just adding it to your diffuser, we have put together a list of ways to use these peaceful drops. Happy Oiling!
1. Hard day a work?
Unwind at home with some lavender essential oil. Rub 2/3 drops in your palms and rub them together quickly for a few seconds. Slightly cup your nose and take a few deep breaths. You should experience an immediate calming effect. Another idea would be to place a few drops in a diffuser when you get home from work, let the aroma calm your mood, and help you wind down.
2. Feeling anxious in a crowded area?
Rub 2/3 drops on your temples and wrists.
3. Having a hard time sleeping?
Rub 2 to 3 drops on your feet, temples, and wrists.
4. Feeling sick?
Grab a bowl, hot water, a towel, and your oil. Add 5/6 drops to a hot bowl of water, place the towel over your head, shut your eyes, and then breathe in the steam from the hot water. Continue for a couple of minutes with occasional breathes of fresh air.
5. Do you get motion sickness in car rides or on boat trips?
Dab some oil behind your ears.
6. Sore from your workout?
Grab a bowl, water (warm or cold works), cloth, and your oil. Add 6/7 drops of oil to the warm water and swirl it around to mix it. Soak your cloth in the water, squeeze it out, and then apply it to wherever you need it!
7. Really, really sore from your workout?
Add eight drops of oil to a bath and soak.

I am just getting into essential oils and loving it. I am always diffusing lavender but have yet to use it on myself. Thanks for the tips. I could sure use it for each and every one of those reasons =P

Great post. I have been known to put some lavender oil on my pillow. I’ve never thought of steaming with it for nausea.

I sell essential oils and lavender is one of my favorites. I diffuse it with cedarwood at night to help me sleep. I learned about the motion sickness fact — thanks!

I love lavender essential oil! I’ve never tried it for motion sickness in the car or on a boat. That’s a great idea! Definitely taking some with me on my next car ride :) Thanks for the idea!

This is great, I love lavender for all sorts of purposes, but lavender tea is the best remedy for when I’m too stressed out to sleep well.
