How to Have the Perfect Valentine's Day - By Yourself!

February 02, 2018

Single on Valentine's Day

We've decided to re-invent Valentine's Day! You don't need somebody to give you this or that to feel the love! You need to show yourself some love!

We've come up with an extra special itinerary to treat yourself to a beautiful night of TLC.

Set up a little space for yourself. Make it as easy as grabbing a couple of blankets, a pillow or two, your favorite candle, maybe a crystal your vibing with... whatever helps you r-e-l-a-x girlfriend.

Decide to make yourself the priority. Treat yourself like a queen. Take the night to do the things you love. That's it!

Need some inspiration? Ideas below.

1. Get Those Essential Oils Going

First things first... set the mood. Adding a different aroma to the room can immediately get you out of any funky mood and into a better one! Seriously, good smelling scents have a positive effect on your mood.

Here's an essential oil blend recipe we came across called "Blissful Moon" and it is LOVELY.

2. Guided Meditation

As the scent you've blended together begins to feel the air, pop on this beautiful 10 min guided meditation.

The perfect place to search for love is within.

If you want to take your meditation a step further, look into our new Self-Love & Happiness stone set. This collection has been curated around the ideas of acceptance, grounded-ness, love, and wisdom.

3. Meal for One

You have two options when it comes to food - order from your favorite takeout or make your own delicious food!

If you're tight on time after work, not into cooking, or want someone to do something for you - then takeout it is! Pad thai, pasta from a spot where they make it fresh, getting a pizza for yourself are all great and (ful)filling meals ideas. Just note that delivery may take longer than normal on V-day.

Looking to make a delicious meal for yourself and not have leftovers? These recipes are perfect for you!

5. Gratitude List

We want to make sure you leave tonight filling fulfilled, so to round out your night of self-care, try giving a gratitude list a try. Not sure where to start? Check out these ideas.

  • Start easy - Write a list of five things for which you’re grateful at this very moment.
    • Examples... Is it silence or a great album you're playing? Maybe it's how you're feeling right now... at ease or relaxed? Are you still smiling from a good conversation or laugh earlier today? Maybe it's your friends' group text or that it was sunny today...
  • Now, that you're in the mindset a bit more, shoot for something bigger. Create a list of 50 things that you’re grateful for.If it helps, divide your list into different categories:
    • Qualities and Personalities Traits
    • Things You've Done and/or Accomplished
    • Friends & Family in Your Life
    • Things You Own
    • Places You've Visited
    • Meals You've Ate
    • Concerts You've Attended

6. Wanting More?

Here are a few more self-care activities to try at home!

  • Take a nice, long bath - make sure you use a bath bomb too!
  • Call someone you love <3
  • Color
  • Pick up a book you've been wanting to read
